Has Anyone else Ever gotten this message before when trying to open SPSS?

    SPSS client error:

    JNI error:

    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:

    com.spss.java_client.core.common.Driver

It pops up when I try to make use of SPSS> and prevents me from opening it. Any help would be really appreciated.

Please provide information which IBM SPSS product and version you installed on which exact operating system?

If you use IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription you have access to via:

    https://myibm.ibm.com/dashboard/

then click on download button for either subscription release for Windows or for Mac. On Windows 10 for example, after you downloaded to your Harddisc, it is required to right click on the installation file SPSSStatisticsSub_Setup_x64.exe and select 'run as administrator'.

If not done so please re-install as administrator

Thanks so much for the advice. If it is helpful, I use SPSS Statistics v27. I also bought it through studentdiscounts. Does this change anything about your advice?

    Cheers,

    Griffin

Hi, you then have the classic, code based SPSS Statistics 27 release.

On Windows 10, after you downloaded the file you received from StudentDiscounts to your Harddisc, it is required to right click on the installation file and select 'run as administrator'. The installation file name is SS_CLIENT_64-BIT_27.0_M_W_M.exe

If not done so please re-install as administrator.
