ISP - Converting File to directory container stg - sizing

    Hello,

I am planning to convert a FILE storage pool to DIRECTORY CONTAINER storage pool. The problem is, I can not find a proper way to calculate the size of the new storage pool. As stated in this link, to convert, the target should be at least 30% bigger than the source. Is that correct? Container pools really do use some much more space for the same amount of data?

The 30% or 50% condition only applies for In-line conversion means if you reuses the existing disks. To elaborate you have filepool which stores data in disk1 and if created directory pool and assigned same disk (disk1) and then running the conversion it is called in-line conversion so for this we require addition space. We require additional space to just run the conversion without any problem however, it won't use more space. Also, refer:
