  • 1.  ISAM on Openshift > 4.4.x

    Posted 08/17/20 06:00 AM
    Hi Jon,

    When the guys in the Openshift 4.4.x was going to upgrade the clustered it failed due to the security constrains done when installing ISAM.

    * Is  ISAM 9.0.7.1 fp4, OpenShift 4.x compatible ?
    * Are you planing to release an operator for the next release of isam?

    Hi Mikael,

    I'm afraid I haven't managed to get access to an OpenShift 4.x system in order to test my deployment assets.  I would have to defer to others as to whether we officially support OpenShift 4.x.  Let me try to get an answer on that.

    What were the specific issues that prevented the upgrade?  I'd be interested to know and it might help to provide some insight.

    I'm not aware of any plans to release an Operator for Verify Access (Verify Access v10.0.0 is the current version - the release after ISAM v9.0.7).

    Jon.

    Mikael,

    Unfortunately ISAM 9.0.7.1 does not officially support OpenShift 4.4.x.  We are however looking at adding this support in the next release, which is due out at the end of the year.

    I would be interested in knowing more about the security constraints issue which you encountered.  The official documentation does explain that you need to set up a special security constraint in order to be able to run ISAM under OpenShift - did you follow these instructions?

    Also, there are currently no plans to introduce an operator for ISAM.  We will however soon be releasing an operator for the IBM Application Gateway image (which is the new light-weight/container-native WebSEAL image).

    I hope that this helps.
