    Should be fine as long as you're done with it. It won't affect anything since this is primarily used for PTF's & APAR's that you choose to put there.

    If you still need something go make another place for it. for that matter go make a permanent place for future install so you don't affect /usr's disk space. If you can that it. Some PTF's & APAR's can be rather large as you probably already know.

    This is empty on new boxes.

    I use NIM now so I don't even use inst.images any more.

    Thanks. I was just messing around with some nim and image management stuff. I partially copied an AIX 7.1 image into that location with bffcreate. So it can all go.
