Does FileNet support large files, for example 250 MB? Is there a recommended file size?

Yes, you can store large files in FileNet. There is no limit on the size of the documents. However, if you are storing large files, please don't use database storage. Instead, use one of our other storage options; for instance, advanced storage or fixed device storage.

There is no limit that Content Foundation imposes on document size, but beware that there are many external component that may have such limits.

I think the default max upload size in WAS is 2GB (at least used to be), but that can be raised. An kind of storage subsystem has a limit although it might not be a practical one.

Network comms might have one, etc.

But one can safely say that there is hardly a practical limit...
