I'm using VIOS 3.1.4.50 and my system shows oslevel 7.2.0.0. I came across the recent security bulletin (CVE-2024-8176) related to Python and wanted to check if my system might be affected. I tried verifying if Python is installed but couldn't find any indication of it.

Does this mean Python isn't installed, and I can safely ignore this vulnerability for now?

If no output is generated that means python is not installed there. Additionally, the security bulletin referred here seems to be impacting only VIOS version 4.1 and AIX 7.3 version. Python isn't part of the base install of AIX 7.2 or VIOS 3.1.x.x.  It is part of the base install of AIX 7.3 & VIOS 4.1.x.x.
