I want to install an IS along with developer on my machine. Can i do this without installing a db server?? I have read about some embedded database that we can use, but that was in wm 7.1.2, i am trying to install 6.1:(

    Cacao,

You do not need DB to install the IS, but you will need it when you try to configure the JDBC Pools.

For just IS and to develop simple flow services u dont need a DB. However as mentioned earlier to configure JDBC pools, TN, modeler/designer you need a DB.

I know this is a late reply but I thought I add my 2cts. I found it best to use the free version of SQL server to replicate a real wM environment without the need for big resources. It runs fine on my old laptop.
