Is Appliance a Supported Server for Installing Agents if the OS is supported?

  • 1.  Is Appliance a Supported Server for Installing Agents if the OS is supported?

    Posted Mon May 13, 2024 10:10 AM

    Hi Team,

In our Environment we have most of the appliance server which has centOS, Linux and Microsoft Windows Server with supported version. I have a little confusion since I have zero knowledge of how appliance works. Hence, I am seeking for a valid response whether to keep the track on Appliances or Not in ILMT.

    Regards,

    Kasinath K

    Hello Kasinath,

Which appliance have you got there ?

First you should check the appliance's documentation, it should cover how to track PVU license entitlements or integrate with ILMT by means of some native, pre-installed scanner.
Following is an example of tracking PVU licensing with DataPower Gateway virtual appliance:
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/10.0.1?topic=virtual-pvu-license-tracking
