Hi,

I trouble shooting vmSAP package using a IS trial installation.
I tried all kinds of guides on internet (32 bit vs 64 bit, using different folders etc), hope someone here can help me identify the solution)?

What I have done (during last attempt, tried to follow documentation carefully)
I installed the IS using the installer. Everything works fine except vmSAP package.
I installed the 64 bit version of JCO 3.0.14 library (sapjco30P_14-10005326_windows_64bit)

I placed as per user guide instruction:
sapjco3. into folder:
"Integration Server_directory\instances\instance_name\lib"
(C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\instances\default\lib)
sapjco3.dll
sapjco3.jar
sapjco3.pdb
sapjcomanifest.mf

and copied the sapjco3.jar into folder:
"Packages_directory\WmSAP\code\jars\static"
(C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\packages\WmSAP\code\jars\static)

I installed sapidoc3.jar from package sapjidoc30P_12-10009485 into folder:
"packages_directory\WmSAP\code\jars\static"
(C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\packages\WmSAP\code\jars\static)

I downloaded and installed
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB973544)
64-bit SAP system on Intel 64-bit: vcredist_x64.exe

Hi,

Please follow thoroughly the SAP adapter documentation.

In the C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\instances\default\lib directory have just the sapjco3.dll file.

And both sapjco3.jar and sapjco3.jar files should go into the directory C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\instances\default\WmSAP\code\jars\static and not C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\packages\WmSAP\code\jars\static .

Hope this sorts your problem.

Hi,

I said to follow the documentation thoroughly but it seems the documentation has missing detail.

The SapJco jar files should go into the "Integration Server_directory\instances\instance_name\packages\WmSAP\code\jars
\static" .

Please make sure you have done following steps after installing the SAP Adapter in IS 9.7 :

sapjco3.dll at IntegrationServer\instances\default\lib

sapjco3.jar and sapidoc3.jar at IntegrationServer\instances\default\packages\WmSAP\code\jars\static

Are you starting the IS in 32bit Mode or in 64bit mode?

When using a 64bit library it is neccessary to start the server in 64bit mode.

Hi Jimmy,

there is flag in the server.sh of IS which needs to be enabled for using 64bit mode:
-D64

In the IS Admin in the left navigation menu, there is a section named Adapters.
Open it and select SAP Adapter.
A new tab (or window) will open in your browser with the SAP Adapter Admin UI.
This also has a left navigation which contains an About link.

I use windows and it starts as a service. Do I need to change some parameter in the wrapper config?

The SAP Adapter is not visible in the left menu due to this error, i.e. the wmSAP package does not load, only partial, thence the adatper (as I understand it is not visible).

Are there any Fixes applied to SAP-Adapter?

Additional information:
Please apply latest SAP_7.1_Fix14 to your instance.
There have been compatibility issues leading to the point that not all JCo-Versions work with all Adapter Fixes.
See Fix readme for details.

please change the server.bat as mentioned and run it once in command window:

server.bat -service

This will update the service definition in the registry.

Stop and Start the service afterwards for the changes to take effect.

Hi, thanks for suggestion. I looked in the 9.9 user admin guide and it appears to be a change in 9.7.
I will explore the wrapper.conf file instead referenced from the service wrapper file.

I checked the wrapper-3.5.25.exe conf-file. it appears to me the value -d32 -d64 for is applicable only for certain platforms, not Windows.

NOTE
The “-d32” or “-d64” parameters will be set on Mac OSX, FreeBSD, HP-UX, and Solaris platforms. On other platforms, the parameter is currently ignored as the standard JVM implementation on those platforms do not expect the “-d32” or “-d64” parameters.

I more and more confident I run in 64 bit mode.
Under About → Server Environment ->Java Data Model = 64-bit

The “updates” folder (C:\SoftwareAG\IntegrationServer\updates) is empty. it is a plain 9.9 installation.

I look in 7-1SAP_Adapter_readme.pdf it refer to follwing fixes are included in: “SAP Adapter 6.5 SP1” to “SAP Adapter 6.5 SP1 Fix 16”

So if there is a 7.1 fix 14 available for the adapter not included in the 9.9 Trial version, then then that is a possible cause to problem which I cannot confirm, not having access to 7.1 fix 4. I do a trial evaluation only.

I guess the problem shooting will stop here with the insight; evaluation of IS 9.9 Trial & SAP Adapter is not feasible with a GA installation (no fixes).

Try using the below JCO and IDOC versions and see still you are getting the same issue.

IDoc Library Version 3.0.12 (2015-02-10)

And place the proper dll and jar files in proper location as mentioned below.

unfortunately there is only the latest version (JCo 3.0.14) available in SAP Marketplace.

The version mentioned by Krishna will not work either as long as SAP_7.1_Fix14 is not applied to the IS/SAP-Adapter:

WSP-1001

webMethods SAP Adapter 7.1 is not compatible with SAP JCo version
3.0.13 and higher.

Changes in the SAP JCo middleware version 3.0.13 cause exceptions
during the IDoc processing in SAP Adapter 7.1.

This issue is resolved. The adapter is now compatible with SAP
JCo version 3.0.13 and higher. 

You will require SAP_7.1_Fix1 at least when using JCo 3.0.3 and higher:

WSP-597 (SAP_7.1_Fix1)
SAP Adapter does not work with SAP JCo 3.0.3 or higher.

SAP JCo and IDoc Library version 3.0.3 and higher are
incompatible with the previous versions and therefore cause SAP
Adapter runtime exceptions when processing IDocs or performing
RFC Repository lookups.

The issue is resolved. SAP Adapter is now compatible with SAP JCo
and IDoc Library version 3.0.3 and higher. Important: The
previous JCo releases 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 are no longer supported.
