    After a complete shutdown my IBM P6 server is not booting the profiles of I/O drawer 5802.Then with the HMC I have initiated the manageable events which shows error msg: 10001512 & 10001601.
    Later On I found that the DC LED is not blinking/Solid state and is OFF in both the power supplies.
    I also found from the web that either Un_E1 or Un_E2 got failed and needs to be replaced. But my Query is How both the Power supplies will be down at the same time after a complete shutdown.
    Also is there any other method to find out how the supplies went down and confirming the same.

    I really think you should be calling AIX and HW support to get this fixed rather than a forum like this as it sounds like a problem with your hardware.

    If you power off and on the P6 machine then the drawer should be ready for use.

    We had a similar occurrence last weekend on a 9117-MMA with one 5802 attached
    Fw upgrade from EM350_49 to 103 took place

    Shortly after successful completion the 5208 drawer showed both psu failed, and drawer therefore not seen by HMC/CEC

    Replaced both psu , drawer now seen by CEC and HMC

    However attached eth and fc adapters and fibre disks seen ok, but no SAS (inc. boot) disks

    5802 components reseated , but disks not recovered - some vpd errors seen - until one of the network cacards was powered off and on via the HMC - it appears this effectively rescanned vpd and disks became visible !! ??

    I am since advised that there is an issue with older power supplies failing and bringing down both supplies, and note also that the power6 firmware contains several fixes for 5802 operation.

    We have previously experienced this problem (twice) on one of our 5802 drawers. For the second outage I believe the part replacement involved the newer model that fixes the issue. Our second 5802 drawer recently had it's power supplies replaced in a pro-active move by IBM.
