We are having 2 x AIX 7200-05-06-2320 PowerVS servers running as primary and HADR standby DB2 database servers of SAP ECC billing environment.
Using freeware rsync-3.2.3-1.ppc we are syncing the contents of /sapmnt file system three times during the day between the servers.
During a DR test last Saturday night, we stopped DB2 gracefully on primary server and while rsync was running, we killed rsync process with "kill -15 <PID>" and we noticed that some files of a specific subdirectory on the target server were either deleted or changed ownership without any other manual intervention.
Those files had not been changed in the source subdirectory so in any case they would not be copied again to the target server.
Is this a normal behaviour and if yes, is there some way we may avoid a similar incident in the future?
