machines, just too slow. Reasonably priced broadband is still three years
    away.

An opportunity has presented itself to get wireless broaband ( cheaply ) on
a stand alone Win 7 laptop which I can attatch to the P2P network.

Leaving the dial up switch/router/serial modem ( ie dial up system in
place ), is there any way the internet connection sharing broadband system
in Win 7 can be used by the AIX computers to utilise the IBM download site
to update their basic operating systems using smit.

Have searched many sites to try and get a method before commiting to the 2
year broadband contract without success. Any one come across any articles to
    assist ?

    Thanks

But if you have several AIX servers, maybe you could download the fixes via FTP to your Windows 7 and transfer to a machine that would act as a NIM master, the Redbook NIM from A to Z and the AIX installation and migration guides are great resources.

    Hope this helps.

Or maybe install a IBM Systems Director with update manager...
