  • 1.  Integration DataPower Domain with version control (GIT)

    I'm trying to integrate DataPower implementation (MPGW) with GIT.

    I tried to follow the steps of the below link (GitOps integration) but I found that the GitOps template not exist in versions before "10.6.0" but I have this version "10.5".

    Is there a way to make this integration with a DataPower version before "10.6.0" ?

    Hi,

    gitops integration is documented for 10.5.0.x firmware, so you can use it.
    Which step exactly is where you have a problem?
    Is it in this document?

    I am checking on a 10.5.0.11 machine, and GitOps doesn't show up from the search in the old or new UI.

    Is it a feature that must be licensed?

    Hello,

    there is a difference in "10.5.0" and "10.5.x" in the documentation links above.

    10.5.x are CD releases which might include the gitops things (I don't know, we don't use it.)

    10.5.0 is a LTS release which doesn't include the gitops. When you are on 10.5.0.11, you don't have it.

    10.6.0 is the latest LTS release which includes the gitops stuff.

    As Uli states, GitOps integration was added in 10.5.3 (Third update package of the 10.5.x CD stream). It is not part of the 10.5.0.x LTS stream. As stated, GitOps integration is also part of the 10.6.0.x LTS stream.

    When you access the previous link and look at the Change version list, you'll see that 10.5.0.x is in italics but 10.6.0.x is is standard font. When shown in italics, that information is not part of that release stream.

    Hello Ahmed,

    GitOps for DataPower is available in
    CD Stream of 10.5 (10.5.X) https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/10.5.x?topic=gateway-gitops-integration
    As well as
    LTS 10.6.0 https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/10.6.0?topic=gateway-gitops-integration

    Since GitOps was a major new feature developed after the release of 10.5.0 LTS there are no plans to back port it.

    Finally given the improvements made from CD 10.5.X to LTS 10.6.0 in respect to GitOps.

    It is recommended to move to 10.6 to get the full DataPower GitOps feature set.

    Just one comment on running 10.5 CD:
    You may use it, but it is out of support with the ship of 10.6.0.0 LTS.
