We are running DPG 10.0.1.0 LTS on a physical server with RHEL 7.9 installed.
As there are several security-related fixes available, we want update the software / firmware to the latest version, 10.0.1.11 LTS, following the description of
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/10.0.1?topic=management-installation-operations.We've downloaded idg_lx100111.lts.scrypt4 from Fix Central. Trying to install it, after some processing time the following error is shown:
Error while processing action.Upgrade failure in dynamic loader: Insufficient flash space available
The dynamic loader failed to upgrade the system (-103).
The resident loader will be used instead.
Loading firmware failed: Insufficient flash space available
Cannot install firmware image.
Looking at the File Management, it shows the following values after uploading the firmware update into the internal file system:
Available Space: 218 MBytes (encrypted), 1.022 MBytes (temporary)
Same error occurred when we tried to install idg_lx10011.lts.scrypt4.
Searching the Web, we only found this:https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/s/question/0D50z00006PDHfACAX/datapower-upgrade-loading-firmware-failed-insufficient-flash-space-available?language=en_US, which refers to a 2-step upgrade. Unfortunately, the link to it is broken.
Assuming that the temporary space is not sufficient, we tried to figure out how to increase it, and installed idg_linux-resize_filesystem-20170101.scrypt4 via System Control, boot image (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/datapower-insufficient-filesystem-space-internal-space-or-image-or-temporary-directories). Execution result shown was success, but no change. Even after restarting the firmware the size of the temporary space was unchanged.
What are we overlooking when trying to install the update?
Thanks!
