0503-420 installp: The status file was not found.
This could be caused by an internal error within the
installation scripts or could be caused by using Ctrl-c
    to interrupt the installation processing.
Any help will be Great appreciated.

Can you upgrade now to the latest AIX 5.1 ML (I think it is ML09 or ML11 - gosh its been 5 years since I worked on these old versions)?

The script that fails is internal to AIX - normally you would call AIX support to get assistence and determine the root cause. they may suggest rebuilding the installp database or similiar.

    Hope this helps, N
