Anyone knowing good tips on how to install cx_oracle on AIX 7.2? 

I assume it should be done somehow via pip ...but next question would be how to get pip installed on AIX? :)

You can install python3 from AIX toolbox. pip is provided a part of python package itself. 

Once you have python3 on AIX you can install using pip command like following.

# python3 -m pip install cx_oracle
Collecting cx_oracle

Getting requirements to build wheel ... done
