  • 1.  Installation of Python on AIX 7.2 via yum.sh getting dependencies errors

    I am trying to bootstrap a aix server for ansible
    $ ansible-playbook -v aix_bootstrap.yml

    error: Failed dependencies:", " sqlite >= 3.7.15.2 is needed by pysqlite-1.1.7-2.ppc"

    The aix_bootstrap.yml code calls yum_install.yml, which goes through the motions of downloading the required software bundle successfully.
    The installation segment of the playbook is failing.

    'Installing the packages...", "error: Failed dependencies:", " sqlite >= 3.7.15.2 is needed by pysqlite-1.1.7-2.ppc", "", "\u001b[1;31mYum installation failed."

    # oslevel -s
    7200-04-02-2015
    # rpm -qa
    tcl-8.4.7-3.ppc
    expect-5.42.1-3.ppc
    tk-8.4.7-3.ppc
    AIX-rpm-7.2.4.1-2.ppc

    Can someone please assist, I would like to get a clean install via yum.sh and ansible-playbook -v aix_bootstrap.yml

    Hi Sasi,

    Please check if downloading the yum_bundle is happening properly.

    Here is the list of packages part of yum_bundle.
