I guess that default format for filesystems in AIX 5.1 is jfs.
    (I'm talking about 32bit system).
What option to use(installing from CD), to point AIX format filesystems with jfs2 ?

I have read some tutorials and found that there is an insllal option "Create JFS2 File Systems", but only for 64bit system. Why ?

If it's not posible to do that, what is another way - converst jfs to jfs2 after install ? Or install update( I heard that this could be done by installing fix pack for AIX 5.1(I'm not sure about this) )

    thank you

I've also asked about converting filesystems to jfs2 after the fact, I have some systems that started out as AIX 4 and still have jfs filesystems on AIX 5.3. The answer from support was that there isn't a good way to do that.

I would just stick with JFS if you're bound to a 32bit system. JFS still works fine, I have quite a few JFS filesystems and haven't had any problems. On the other hand, I had some problems with JFS2 corruption when it first came out.

for a while but nowadays, we do JFS2 (on 5.3) by default pretty much. With
32-bit, you should stick with JFS but if you must use JFS2 for your non-rootvg
for whatever reasons, be sure to apply the latest ML and look for APARs that
    are specific to JFS2.
