  • 1.  Informix 43258 error onbar logical restore

    Hello All.

    I ran onbar -r -p to restore the database which rab successfully. But after running onbar -r -l (Logical Restore) I got 43258 and 43168 error.

    Please let me know how to overcome from this issue and run the restore successfully.

    current Informix and OS version:

    Online.log

    bar_act.log

    Kindly suggest.

    See the message log output (onstat -m) that you posted. Netbackup says that it was not used to back up the logical log that is being requested. Is it possible that ontape was used to backup the logs instead of onbar?

    Hello All,

                 Apologies.  I made the mistake. I started the restoration and during Logical restore I opened the new session and forgot to export the environment variables.

                 Later I ran onbar -r -l -n <log number> with exporting env variables and Restoration completed.

    Hello Art,

                Thanks for replying. Here we are using onbar only. Only the thing is that we used June 23rd backup to restore the data instead of June 24.

               And June 23rd data was also backed up successfully.

    Hi,

    Check the ixbar file https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/informix-servers/14.10.0?topic=components-ixbar-file-bar-emergency-boot-file

    Is there a logical log backup for that logical log in the ixbar file?

    Use copyid hi and lo to check with the storage manager if that object was backed up and if it is still accessible.
