    Hello,

    I got little confused after going through installation documentation. Someone please clarify.

    Do we need to install Java 1.8 version(Licensed) in server before proceeding with installation of Informix 14 version?
    Or Informix 14 already bundles Java which is required for installation so we can install Informix 14 directly?

    Hi,
    This passage states that the machine notes
    might mention you need an external JRE.
    If this is not the case for your platform, you should be able to use the bundled JRE.
    (At least on Linux, this is working from my experience).
    It is only needed for the license installer 
    (or when you want to use Java based stored
    procedures)
