In the HIPAA trees we get with the product, I can see the Inbound & Outbound groups. I couldn't tell the difference between them. Can someone explain why two groups are defined and when do we use them in our mapping?

The Typetrees are designed this way, so that at some point in the future, the structure can be changed on one without affecting the other, and (assuming you used the correct ones in your mapping cards) you wont have to change your maps.
