Inadvertently ran "_nodeuninst.bat" .. startServer.bat script no longer controls windows service

A few months ago I ran the _uninstnode.bat (accidentially hit tab >> enter, which by bad luck this bat is the first one in the windows dir) while in the directory and that is the first program that came up.. it removed the node..   I was able to recreate with registernode.bat but the startServer.bat no longer is tied directly to the service.  Is there a way to recouple the service to the script?

The side effect of this nature is when I stop the service, the node is still active, so I have to stop the service, and then run the stopServer.bat to stop as well...  To ensure I only am starting one node, I have to reboot the machine and let the service automatically start.

    Regards,
    James

    Hi,

I would suggest that you first ensure a backup of your websphere configuration (either backupConfig or backupProfile), uninstall and install Websphere, create a new profile and register the node as you did.

    Hope it helps.

Greetings Largou!    Thank you for the advice.  After I uninstall and install Websphere, would I be able to restore my configuration from the backup (from backupConfig) using restoreConfig?   and does it matter if I run backupConfig from the AppServer\bin or from the AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\bin?

    Regards,
    James
