  • 1.  import CPA (B2B gateway) logs out my session

    Posted Thu February 08, 2024 10:27 AM

    Hello,
We're going to migrate form Axway B2Bi to Datapower with our ebXML traffic.
I know my way around the Axway and how to deal with the CPA's. And (technically) know my way around the Datapower (we already use datapower for webservices mostly MPGW's). But Now I need to start form scratch with B2B stuff in Datapower.

I already did the raid configuration for the B2B document storage. So now I have 2 raid partions (and the B2B documentation storage has plenty of free space available and the raid 'Set to read-only' is off)
But when I try to import a CPA (Configure B2B Gateway) which I already have because of the Axway where we already use them, I get an error.
The error disapears very quickly (blink of an eye) because the DP throws me out and I need to log in again.
The error states something like that I don't have the permissions to write to the file system. Normal filesystem is no problem but I assumed this is the Raid part (what normally is read only according to the documentation). The error only comes on screen (very short) and does not appear in the DP logs. But analyzing the browser behaviour/log it appears the logout is the issue. Because my valid session suddenly throws an error (401 Unauthorized on the call https://<OurDpUrl>/getXML.xml?action=getUserDomainList).

But when I do this call in a valid session I get the result. So it looks like my session is invalided in a way because of the CPA import.

I don't think it has to do with access because I am admin and my access profile has full access, like this: */*/*?Access=r+w+a+d+x

Anyone know where I need to look/adjust to get an import of a CPA working ?

    Thanks in advance.

    P.S. Our firmware is
    Firmware:IDG.10.5.0.5
    Build:351132

I suggest opening a support ticket.  B2B expertise is rare, and B2B with CPA even more rare.

Thanks, I just opened a case.

The fact that you're being thrown out indicates another type of errors (generally resources CPU/memory/disk space). The 401 might be a red herring. As Charlie states, open a service ticket with IBM Support. What would be needed to open the ticket are

    • platform (physical, VMware, Linux, Container/Docker
    • memory/CPU allocation if not physical
    • Where in the flow where  "Add from CPA" threw you out".

The 2 key points with the flow are:

    • Was the action to update an existing or create a new, which shouldn't matter?
    • Were you thrown out when you clicked "Next" to validate the CPA file that defines the ebXML or "Import"?

I'm not going to ask which GUI, for this is only the WebGUI and is currently not planned for the new UI. The point for this caveat is that if there's a problem with this WebGUI-only wizard, it most likely will not be addressed.

Just found out a few minutes ago, that there was a problem that was fixed in 10.0.1.17, 10.5.0.9, and 10.5.3. Without the fix, you get an error about no permission to write to files (independent of account type). I don't understand the "log out" aspect, but if this was the message you saw (briefly), it might be resolved through an upgrade.

Is the APAR out?  If not, do you have a list of the affected FW versions and form factors?  That is, how long has it been around?

For the APAR, that can't be published at this moment because of process issues affects all supported versions (why I didn't mention it). The fix is in the cited fix packs for the 3 supported streams. As you and I have stated, Joseph, CPA-enforced B2B gateway is rare. We're doing an "industry" check to see whether this is picking up. We've done a lot of work fo AS4, but CPA is ebMS2 (not ebMS3). AS4, as you know, is an extension of ebMS3.

CPA/ebMS is prescribed for some dutch governmental exchanges. There is even a centralised CPA register for that.(https://cparegister.nl/)
