IBM Z Software Asset Management is not part of IBM's RSU levels

    I just want to make it clear that many customers are opening cases stating that they are running a particular RSU level and somehow we IZSAM are supposed to know this. Well we are not part of any RSU level and only the products listed below are:

    • z/OS
    • CICS Transaction Server for z/OS
    • DB2 for z/OS
    • GDPS/Metro and GDPS/MzGM
    • IMS
    • IRLM
    • JAVA
    • WebSphere Application Server for z/OS
    • IBM MQ for z/OS
    • z/OS Management Facility

    So when you download an RSU level only the above products are the only ones that have been tested for the RSU level. IZSAM is not part of the Consolidated Service Test. So when we ask what level of the software you are running when asking about IZSAM, we mean the APAR level that is shown in the Import logs or the Usage Monitor log not the RSU level. So please next time you open a case don't use the RSU level you are running.
