     It appears that windows update KB5025221 have created errors in everything IBM LTFS except for load/unload commands.  All other commands fail with this error ""Error 0x800703E6: Invalid access to memory location"

    When reviewing LTFS Windows event logs it is filled with many interface errors when trying to mount.

    I have attached the windows LTFS Event logs for further review.   As a work around I have been directing everyone to install Teracopy in addition with IBM spectrum SDE. For whatever reason Teracopy will write to LTFS without receiving the memory error but it has issues with timeouts, so it isn't a great work around.

    Hi, The same error as Rich B : Error 0x800703E6 when i would to copy to HDD. But it is possible to open the file from the LTO ( example picture.JPG ) and possible to rename the file on the LTO. I have not install Teracopy.

    Has anyone found a solution for this? I put off Win update for as long as possible but now i am suffering the issue again.

    I've been told by a solution provider that IBM is aware of the issue and working on a fix. It would be great to hear this directly from IBM. Even if it's just a note on the LTFS SDE download page indicating an awareness of the issue. Also, a planned release date. Coming in June/July? Coming in 3rd quarter? Something. We're out here not able to reliably create LTO backups.

    Another frustrated Windows user here. Windows keeps installing this **** update, so our investment in LTO is completely unusable until we uninstall it. 

    Does IBM have any comment or timeline for how long we'll need to keep stopping Windows Updates?

    The above link isn't publicly accessible, but I gather it's not great news.

    We've given up on LTFS on (non-Server) Windows ever being fixed, and have moved over to a Mac Mini. We put our ATTO SAS card in a Sonnet Echo Express PCIE-to-Thunderbolt converter and interfaced the LTO drive with the Mac that way. Let's hope that keeps working for a long time!

    Hello, my answer may be late, but, for the record. IBM Storage Archive SDE, previously IBM Spectrum Archive, has enabled Windows platform again: IBM Storage Archive SDE for Windows

    This new version fixes the error "Error 0x800703E6: Invalid access to memory location"

    This version, or at least the newest version doesn't work with Danish character's, the drive disappears if you create a folder with the letter æ ø å
