In IBM MQ, we have Queue manager cluster in AIX server in production and want to migrate to new AIX machine. I took backup of qmgrs, logs and mqs.ini file and restored on new AIX server by changing channel details in cluster sender. After this, I have observed new cluster sender details in my current old production cluster server channel. How is it possible? Is there any recommended procedure for migrating/ backup and restore for Queue manager cluster?

I suspect the crux of the problem is likely to be found by analysing what you meant when you said, "... restored on new AIX server by changing channel details in cluster sender."

Did you change the channel details in the cluster sender before, or after, the cluster sender was able to start up and contact the old production cluster with the details it currently knew about?

The fact that you took backups of all the qmgr data files, and logs suggested you wanted not just to replicate the cluster, but also all the message data as well. Is that true?

If you didn't need the message data, the you might have been better to just save off all the definitions, and then before applying the definitions to the new machines, make the changes to the connection details.

I guess you need to tell us more about why you are migrating and what you want out of the migration - i.e. just replicated configuration, or more than that.
