IBM MQ Migration from AS400/Iseries to Linux/RHEL V7

    Dear All,

We have the scenario where we need to migrate from IBM MQ 7.0 on Iseries to Linux System/RHEL V7

Any tools or procedure for this kind of complicated migration would be helpfull.

What we have noticed so far,

    1. IBM MQ 7.0 on Iseries
    2. Applications are blocked /Allowed via Exits written in C language(BlockIP2)
    3. on RHEL V7, IBM MQ 9 should be used.
    4. No Cluster machanism is used

As we know , data migration from Iseries to Linux is not possible, hence only way left is to create new Qmgr on Linux and import all the objects from old server.

Your valuable inputs would help us to proceed and help our clients faster

    Thank you in advance.

As you have already concluded, you will have to export your definitions and define them on the new queue manager. This is a straightforward task.

Your main complication will come if you wish to convert your BlockIP2 configuration into CHLAUTH rules. This article will help you with that task.
