    Does anyone have an IBM contact or know of the department to connect for reaching out to license older legacy AIX products and devices? .

    Hi,

    You should go to you "local IBM representative" and ask for a price from the Power Systems team.

    You can find out who to contact from www.ibm.com.

    IBM does not have one person that deals with this across all countries of the worlds and currencies.

    Your "in country" IBMers know how to escalate problem case (due to the age of the HW o AIX) to the AIX product manager if necessary.

    Please gather the hardware details like Machine Type Model (MTM) and serial numbers to save time.

    You should be running AIX 7.2 or AIX 7.3 already. Older than that is foolish in my humble opinion - due to security updates and newer AIX version go faster.

    Hi Nigel,

    Being an individual developer and legacy interest project I don't have an IBM rep. :-(   I've worked with an AIX Architect in Austin to locate the legacy archive that is needed, but he needs a license to release it.  The contact he found in India has gone MIA, radio silent for 5 months now.

    Was hoping someone had another contact somewhere on the planet.   I've tried the ibm.com sales forms, but it's seems like a brick wall unless you are Fortune 500.

    It's just paperwork, and checkbook is in hand.

    Hello Ryan,

    Sanket pinged me over the weekend.  It sounds as if you are looking to acquire a Service Extension for a level of AIX that is End of Support (EoS).  I have forwarded this request over to the team that I know of that works these requests (usually with a service rep) to take a look to see how they can assist.  We'll get an answer to you shortly.  Thank you Sanket for reaching out.

    Hello Ryan,  I posted this originally... but modified looking for additional details.  Are you looking for Support on an End of Service (EoS) SW product?  Are you looking for licensing and on HW or SW?  Please provide your company name and the HW SerialNum of the system you are running on (you can message that info privately if you like).  IBM should be able to track down your regional service rep with that information.  If you are looking for a Service Extension for Support, I know the people we'd want to get you in touch with.  If something else, then we'd need to work together to find out who that might be.  Please provide some more details on your request.  Thank you very much.

    Ok.  Just sent the following below to your gmail address.  if that goes through then we can continue our conversation there.

    This was my correspondence yesterday on the 4 points below.

    1. I received your PM.  The tool was delayed this morning at which point I added the second message. 

    1. May I ask who you were working with that went radio silent?  I want to see if they are still here (but maybe in a new role). 

    1. Also, I didn't catch which company you are with.  I am interested to see if I can find a sales rep for you for future contact if needed as well not only for this topic but any others. 

    1. I am waiting for a response from the folks I sent communications to this morning.  I will keep you posted as soon as I hear back or have a better lead.

    Today's Update:  I continue to poke on folks.  Someone thought you originally had a support related question which is why they handed you to me.  But instead of handing you off to another person, I am aiming to get you the answer directly or find the right contact.  I am still working it.  I will still take your answer to questions #2 and #3 and you mentioned in the other thread that you have a mgmt. correspondence you wanted to provide? 

    I'll confirm with you daily if I have any new updates.
