I am  currently running WebSphere 7.0 on solaris 10, the java version is  6 running on a hotspot VM. Is there a way to install IBM version of java on solairs WebSphere install. This is just for a test and I am familiar it can void myproduct warranty, 

I have also installed different versions of java for the hotspot VM for WebSphere 8.5.5 and used managesdk to swithc between different versions of java, Just unsure if I can achieve to use a different JVM altogether.

On the Solaris OS, WebSphere installs the IBM Solaris Hybrid SDK.  This SDK contains the hotspot VM, the Java 6 class libraries, and some ibm extensions under jre/lib/ext and jre/lib/endorsed.  IBM doesn't have it's own VM on Solaris.
