    Hi All, 

    I am using PDI to generate a workload estimator report.

    • Size Next Upgrade
      Size Next Upgrade allows you to take the selected performance data and send it to the IBM Systems Workload Estimator (WLE) to perform a capacity planning exercise based on the data you have selected. It is important to select a beginning and ending interval for the data you want to send to WLE, otherwise the entire collection will be sent. Generally, you will want to identify a timeframe of peak workload activity for a sizing exercise, not a full 24-hour collection.

      but now, the WLE link is not working and it says server is going down soon. Is there a new way to generate a workload estimator report based on IBM i *MGTCOL performance data, aside from the Size next upgrade option from PDI?

    Dear Joel

    I have not use WLE for too long and see no other choice. And I have no idea if WLE tool is still in normal service these days. Have you recently used it before?  If so, it has been normal for us on this part of the world to encounter some IBM web sites not in service occasionally because they may be down for maintenance during USA's night time.  Please wait until your evening or tomorrow and try it again.   

    BTW, I wonder how come this post of yours appears in this Power group rather than IBM i Global group?

    Dear Joel

    WLE web site is up and running now. I notice it accepts only XML file. I do not see it accepts *MGTCOL file for its input.

    My apologies Satid and thanks for your response. how to move it to the IBM i Global group? 

    I reached out to IBM as a few years ago, i used to be able to generate sizing report from WLE straight from the IBM Navigator for i Performance option, i use the Size Next Upgrade option straight from the *MGTCOL collection when viewing the CPU Utilization and Waits overview. Apparently now thw old WLE website is decommissioned. 

    IBM said:

    Apparently the new WLE uses XML only, am still checking with IBM if i can generate the XML input from *MGTCOL or if there is another way to generate sizing from *MGTCOL objects.
