    IBM has formally mentioned about the new O.S.. IBM i 7.6 delivers a significant advancements in security and innovation.This release introduces significant updates across the portfolio, including advancements in security, performance, availability, and application development. These enhancements provide businesses with the tools and capabilities they need to navigate the challenges of today's dynamic technology landscape and capitalize on future opportunities. The major enhancements is described below. 

    IBM i 7.5 is the last supported release for all Power 9 technology servers.

    Security:

    • Enhanced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Integrated MFA strengthens your security posture, providing robust defense against ransomware and unauthorized access. This feature minimizes vulnerabilities and protects critical data.
    • Streamlined Regulatory Compliance: Advanced authentication and enhanced user profile protection simplify adherence to stringent regulatory requirements. IBM i 7.6 enables organizations to meet compliance standards efficiently.
    • Reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Clients can leverage built-in MFA and other security features, which translate to lower costs and simplified management.

    Application Development:

    • The Code for IBM i project continues to deliver significant updates that enable developers to leverage modern development methodologies and techniques to address evolving IBM i development needs.
    • New and updated Cryptographic Services APIs: IBM i 7.6 offers developers a wider range of secure algorithm choices, enhancing the protection of application credentials and sensitive data. This reinforces application security.

    System Administration:

    • Navigator for i with MFA Support: The fully updated Navigator for i now supports multi-factor authentication, providing secure remote management capabilities. This ensures secure access for system administrators.
    • Proactive License Management: License expiration information and warnings are prominently displayed on the main multisystem dashboard, enabling proactive license management. This avoids disruptions and ensures continuous operations.
    • Secure Connection Interfaces: New interfaces are introduced to facilitate secure connections to IBM i, simplifying system administration tasks. These enhancements enhance security and streamline management.
