    Hi Kalyan,

Basically the pourpose is to manage HTTP server from Admin Console

Managing IBM HTTP Server remotely with the WebSphere Application Server administrative console
     https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSAW57_8.5.5/com.ibm.websphere.ihs.doc/ihs/tihs_ihsremadm.html

    • IBM HTTP Server remote administration with unmanaged nodes: When you install IBM HTTP Server on a remote machine without a managed node, the administration server is necessary for remote administration. The IBM HTTP Server installation includes the administration server, which installs by default during a typical IBM HTTP Server installation.

The administration server is the interface that handles requests between the administrative console and the remote IBM HTTP Server defined on the unmanaged node. The administration server must be started by a root user and defined to an unmanaged WebSphere Application Server node.

    • IBM HTTP Server remote administration using WebSphere Application Server Express and Base: Administration function for IBM HTTP Server with the WebSphere Application Server Express or Base product requires installation and configuration of the administration server.

Hope this helps. Tell us if you need more support

    Regards
