  • 1.  IBM Guardium integration with Pervasive

    Posted 12/14/20 01:34 PM

    Dear All,

I have a client that installed Guardium and Qradar at this premises.

He has Pervasive database and is looking to monitor activities on this DB.

What is the best way to do this knowing that Guarium does not support Pervasive?

We captured the traffic on the SPAN part but yet not recognized by Guardium on the GUI because it is not supported.

    Anyone worked before with Pervasive?

    Thanks,

If no one has a solution, Guardium v11.3 introduces Guardium universal connector, which enables your client to develop & install a plug-in to get & parse any data source, including Pervasive audit logs, if such exist (thru AuditMaster, I understand), or the net traffic that you [managed to] catch.

If there's a way to write things to an appending/rotating file, like a log, either from AuditMaster or using any other means, you could send these audit messages to Guardium (using Elastic Filebeat, for example, or Syslog), and then you will need to develop a small plugin to prepare a Guardium Record object for insertion into Guardium. In your case, it should be even easier, as you will probably send the PSQL command for grammar parsing by Guardium (assuming it's similar to the SQL standard).
