  • 1.  IBM Cognos TM1 Web Clipboard Extension for Chrome - no longer supported!

    Hi everyone!

    I am wondering whether anyone else has run into this, and how they resolved it (short of upgrading TM1 Web which is on the roadmap but not possible TODAY). I am looking for scalable solutions (hundreds of users).

    On older TM1 Web versions Chrome users would need to install the IBM Cognos TM1 Web Clipboard Extension in order to be able to (say) copy a grid of numbers from Excel and paste into a TM1 Web cube view.

    BUT Chrome now doesn't support the extension (see screenshot).

    This is NOT a problem with PAW cube views or (I am told) newer versions of TM1 Web.

    Hello,

    1. "This is NOT a problem with PAW cube views" - but the problem persists if you are using websheets in PAW
    2. "newer versions of TM1 Web" - Yes, clipboard extension is not needed in PASS starting from version 88. So the solution is to upgrade PASS

    There is also a workaround with Firefox - it still supports clipboard extension

    One important hint for on-premises customers.  HTTPS is required by most web browsers to allow copy and paste to the clipboard.  If you have PAW and PASS deployed on-premises then SSL must be configured before copy and paste will work in Chrome.

    The extension is always available on Edge, otherwise it's possible to install an extension from outside the online store.
