How does one do a search , in a pds  for a member , or  in a file for a word  , or in  JCL  for a name , I've looked in the user manual  and it's unclear

Hi Derek,

It's possible to do this using IBM Explorer for z/OS, which is part of CICS Explorer, if you have the RSE connection (so the IBM Explorer for z/OS host must be running)

Assuming you have this daemon and connection enabled... From within the Remote Systems perspective, make sure you're connected. Use the Search > Search... menu (or press ctrl+h) to bring up the search dialog and you can use Remote z/OS Search to search within filters of data sets that you have set up already.
