I have a couple AIX servers which do not consistently get link lights on Dell S4820T switches. We have done all the usual steps: checked speed/duplex, swapped cables, swapped servers, swapped switches, all with no result.

We suspect it's a negotiation issue, just not sure if it's on the switch or NIC. That said, do IBM 1Gb NICs do something different during speed negotiation than the rest of the world?
