While IBM views EOS and EoFS as different I would use PowerVM VIOS Lifecycle Information as the key page.

I would suggest upgrading to 4.1.1.
I am surprised your VAR did not contact you around their business opportunity to assist you with your VIOS 3 to 4 migration. I know mine did.
Note support for IBM products can be region specific. While this is mostly hardware from what I have seen you should make sure.
