Hi Anil,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to leverage Excel DSNs using the Secure Gateway within Planning Analytics. The Secure Gateway & Planning Analytics combination requires an IP and port to connect to, which the Excel DSN does not provide, so the technologies are not really compatible.
You'll have to use some of the other options that Paul Young described like moving the flat file to the cloud, or loading the flat file into a database that Secure Gateway can leverage.

I know that it is an option but then I can't test the ODBC connectivty to Excel file...
As mentioned I am exploring the Secure Gateway Connectivity :-)
and was wondering how the Microsoft Excel Driver works without mentioning the File path...

Why not just bring the file as CSV file and then upload the file from your sharefolder.

Subject: How to setup Secure Gateway connection to access an on-premise Excel File?
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the quick reply but my question is specific to the Microsoft Excel Driver as DSN... (I am using an Excel file as my Data source)
My main concerns are the following:
· In the Add Data source what will be the Host Name & Port?
· In Create DSN option ,I can't find a space to enter the exact Excel file location...
Regards
Anil

There many ways to connect Planning Analytics with external data:
- Secure gateway (tunnel) - Connecting Secure Gateway to #Planning Analytics
| IBM Analytics Communities | remove preview |
 | | Connecting Secure Gateway to #Planning Analytics | | You can use IBM® Secure Gateway to create and manage a secured connection between the IBM® Planning Analytics environment and your on-premise sources of data. Before you can use a secure connection between your data and Planning Analytics, you must add a data source to Secure Gateway. | | View this on IBM Analytics Communities > |

- Flat file
You may want to discuss your data connection with your business partner/consultant.
