  • 1.  How to set the name of each tab in Excel (report with multiple report references)

    Hi everyone, I've tried to figure this out myself but am not able to. I have a report in Cognos v11.1 R6 that has 3 report references (3 pages each pointing to a different report):


    When I run this report in Excel format, I see 3 tabs, one for each report reference. However, the names of the tabs in Excel are "Page_1", "Page_2", "Page_3". How can I make Cognos name each of those tabs based on the Name property of each report reference ("FirstReport", "SecondReport", "ThirdReport")? Any help is greatly appreciated!     Hi Melody,

    In Cognos Administration I have set advanced settings for the ReportService and the BatchReportService.
    RSVP.EXCEL.NUMBEREDSHEETNAMES                        false
    RSVP.EXCEL.PAGEGROUP_WSNAME_ITEMVALUE      true

    This works for reports with multiple pages. I'm not sure if it works with report references.
    I have one note if you are using a report with a grouping item on a page set and have more than 1 detail page. In that case the tabs will get the name of the grouping item with an extension _1, _2 and so on. But in all other cases it works as expected.

    Thanks so much Thomas! I will definitely ask our IT team to implement these settings in our test environment to see if they help. Each of the 3 reports that are being referenced in my example do not have any groups in them. Regards, Mel Alberti
