  • 1.  How to remove or edit Get started Tab on home page in 11.2.1

    Hello,

    Is there a way to edit or completely remove Get started tab in home page or even showing Recent tab also works. I know we can do via Manage > Accounts customizations in each role but we have quite a few roles so doing one by one is pain and upkeep issue in future.

    Hi Vijay,

    You might want to use this extension to remove Get Started for everyone.

    From Manage, go to Customization / Extensions. Click on Upload extension, and add the attached extension.

    Log out (not sure if it is mandatory) then log in and you should have :

    Update the spec.json with the following line if you also want to remove recent:
    "excludeItems":["com.ibm.bi.caHome.navigator.getStarted", "com.ibm.bi.caHome.navigator.recents"],
    The previous line was:
    "excludeItems":["com.ibm.bi.caHome.navigator.getStarted"],

    Thank you Patrick, that worked like a charm. Is there something similar for Quick launch too i want to hide Exploration box. will this work

    Hi Patrick,

    Do you know what should be used to exclude the Assistant input box entirely in Cognos 12? 

    I've been able to exclude everything else (Quick Launch, Recents, etc.), but can not seem to find a way to exclude the Assistant entirely, so that it is only accessible on the Application bar.
