I am trying to validate some field at server side, after that validation I need to provide message in the screen. How can I achieve the same? With code example will help me better.

Also let me know if I use the log(“-----”) or error(“----”) method, where it can been seen?

Have you tried using a message pane on that task?

Check the default code on the Start Task portlets - it is used to inform of the ID of the created task.
