    I am new to the SPSS program.  I am trying to utilize the CDC National Health Interview Survey 2007 CAM subset for my Ph.D. stats class project.  The file is in the form of .dat.   However, I do not understand how to open it in the SPSS program.  I have used the import function with a text file.  I proceed through the wizard prompts, and the resultant database is 23,000+ entries of 5,700+ variables, all with no data.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
