  • 1.  How to integrate with S/4 HANA

    ​Hello ,CA expert.
    I am Shomei from Zeal corporation, one business partner from IBM.

    I have a customer who is decided to implement SAP S/4 HANA, although they haven't have detailed plan.
    for BI area, they also check BI vendors in order to choose one best BI tool which is best fit with S/4 HANA.

    Currently, US and several Europe countries are using Cognos BI.
    Cognos Analytics is one choice of them,we need let them know how to integrate with S/4 HANA.

    As far as my knowledge so far, if you want to extract data from SAP ECC  models (like FI,CO), we need to use a 3rd party adapter or BAPI program.

     When customer imple SAP S/4 HANA, does Cognos Analytics can link with SAP S/4 HANA directly?

    from Support Matrix, Cognos Analytics support SAP HANA which is acted as transaction DB in SAP S/4,
    so can I expect that CA can extract the data from the data source of SAP HANA which is in SAP S/4, without using Adapter?

    Dear 暁梅 秦 , 

    Yes Cognos Analytics can link with SAP S/4 HANA directly.

    I manage a project to move datasource from SSAS to SAP Hana. 
    Connect Cognos Analytics to SAP Hana is very easy. Just need ngdbc driver to put in driver directory.
    Then create a connection in Cognos Administration.
    Then start to create a framework.

    Thanks for your reply.

     

    Could you confirm if CA can directly link with SAP HANA which is acted as Database of SAP S/4 HANA?

    SAP S/4 HANA is next generation ERP post of ECC, SAP HANA become transaction database of ERP.

     

    If HANA is not a SAP ERP database, is a kind of BI, no doubt about that CA can integrate with HANA directly.
