Not on R12 yet, but had a question.  In the table step of the transform pipeline, if I filtered that data, can I still right-click on the header to export the filtered data like in R11 or has that changed?  Thanks so much!

Thanks for the question. Yes you can do that in R12 but it's a little different.  You need to be on the home tab for a selected data set (or filtered data set).

Using that Export function exports the entire table - all columns and all rows... I believe what @Jenny Franklin wants is the ability to filter a column in the Table step, and then only export those lines. I don't believe this functionality exists yet. We requested a RFE for this a while back and encourage you to do the same to help expedite it.

If you're pipeline is simple (like the one above), just temporarily add the column filter you want to the Filter step, then export and revert the change. But if you're pipeline is complex (e.g. the Filter step is early on and there are multiple steps afterwards), there's no way around this that I'm aware of - have to export the entire table then filter in Excel.

I want to mark you both correct - didn't know the different process re exporting the table data and didn't know the functionality wasn't there yet for filtered data.  Thank you both again for your help!

Alternatively, you could create a new table based on the existing one and then add a Filter step and a Hide and Rename step (if you only want certain columns) and then export that one.. Might be easier working within Apptio rather than Excel if the dataset is really large..

Funny you say that - I use Apptio vs Excel for a lot of stuff like that

So I talked to the CT Dream Team (@Mark Nealey, @Chris Rhoades and @Ryan Paul ) since I had them all in the room - they agree, we can't get the filtered results however, there is a bug filed on it.  So perhaps it will be in a future release.

I submitted this feature request a while back (while at Ticketmaster / Live Nation).

Maybe @Brett Yates or other Apptian can provide some more info about when we can expect an enhancement to the Export feature.

More clarity about what was requested...

The Export feature should export the data shown from the Preview tab (in any step), the Rows Removed tab, or final output of the table...driven by whichever is displayed.

@Ryan Paul,  @Stephen Atwell; @Eric Brandstetter�, @HIREN SHAH - can one of you shed any light on whether @Matt Temple's request is in the roadmap or backlog or anything?  Or if it's already there and I just missed it in the release notes?

While this is under consideration for future iterations of the road-map it is not currently targeted.
