  • 1.  How to create non-admin user in Data Management Console?

    Posted 04/07/25 08:58 AM

I'm trying to create a non-admin user in Data Management console using "Setup admin" authentication type, but I couldn't create this type of user.

I have also tried to create the user with "Repository" authentication type, but this just blocked the use of my "admin" user.

How can we create non-admin users with passwords, like we used to do in Data Server Manager ?

    Thank you,

    Gabriel Voinea

    Hi Gabriel

The authentication method supported by Data Management Console is different from Data Server Manager. When you install DMC, you will be promoted to config an admin role which is treated as console administrator. DMC itself does not manage admin or non-admin users. After the set up is done, you need to change the authentication type to either LDAP or Repository.More details for different authentication approach can be found in DMC Manual which you can download from this link.  https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/download-db2-data-management-console-user-guide
