How can I create dummy variables? Whenever I try, it keeps saying I need the Python Essentials plugin. In the internet it says in my version Python essentials is already installed, unless I manually decide not do install it (which I haven't done). During the entire installation proces, it did not say a word about Python Essentials. Can someone please help me? I am really desperate and under time pressure :-( Thank you so much!

Have you installed the SPSSINC CREATE DUMMIES extension command? If so, what is the exact error message you are getting?

Go to Extensions > Extension Hub and search for dummy.

It says there is no extension with this name

You can check the Installed and Updates boxes at the bottom and redo the search. Your result suggests, however, that the extension is already installed, in which case you ought to be able to go to Transform > Create Dummy Variables to do that.

Alternatively, you could just use Compute and write out all the necessary formulas.
