How to calculate GINI and Lorenzcurve in SPSS Statistics

  • 1.  How to calculate GINI and Lorenzcurve in SPSS Statistics

I want to calculate the Gini Coefficient in SPSS Statistics. In addition I need the Lorenzcurve. I cannot find any (easy) solution on how to do it.

I did find out that it is possible to do it, but you need a lot of steps to get there. Is there a more "automatic" way? (since I need to calculate many Gini-coefficients)

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks :)

Get the STATS INEQUALITY extension command. You can install it from the Extensions > Extension Hub menu. It provides Gini and a number of other measures.

This package requires the appropriate version of R and the R Essentials for your Statistics version and platform. However, the authors of the R DescTools package used by this extension have made a number of changes to that package that might be incompatible with your Statistics version, so you might need to get an older version of that if running the procedure fails.
