When formatting is stripped from cells in Excel, numbers stored as text are easily recognized because they align left.
To quickly convert the text to numbers, do the following:
• Enter 1 in any unused cell.
• Select that cell and copy it.
• Select the range of cells to be converted to values.
• Select "Paste Special"...

• Select "Values" and "Multiply" from the menu, then "OK"...

• Any numbers stored as text will be converted to values, which will then align right...

I hope this helps.

Subject: how to avoid warning 'the number in this cell is formatted as text or preceded by an apostrophe ' in excel out put
Hi Everyone,
I have a field with value as (03596) and when exported into excel its showing warning 'the number in this cell is formatted as text or preceded by an apostrophe '.
I have tried to change the format of this field to be number or text but none works.
Anyone has workaround for this?
