  • 1.  How to add a new Portfolio Epic

    Hi All

    I'm using the Sandbox/Demo for Targetprocess and am trying to add a new Portfolio Epic by clicking the blue plus sign to the left of the Portfolio Epics title - as the Targetprocess onboarding videos are instructing. 

    The issue is, when I navigate to the Portfolio Backlog view it says 'Yikes...! Nothing in there...!' and doesn't show a blue plus sign. 

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many things can cause this.

    1) You dont have the rights to create a PE

    2) Your board filter is omitting the PE

    3) The PE that you have created has other criteria like Portfolio etc which is different to the filter in the board setup

    Hi Gareth,

    To get around this, try creating a new Portfolio Epic using the blue Quick Add button at the top of the left menu.  Once created, this entity should display on your view if it meets the criteria of the view set-up.

    I just tried creating a new PE but 'Portfolio Epic' doesn't seem to be an option once I've clicked the Quick Add button. I've 3 attached screenshots of the options I have...unless I'm just not doing it right. 

    Maybe what @Jeffrey Devine was saying about me possibly not having the rights to create a PE is the issue. 

    Could you advise on how I'd find that out?

    If you do not have PE in the quick-add and do not have the little green plus in the board view then chances are that you do not have the right to create a PE. You would need to chat to your Target Process administrator - they can check two things

    1) Your role on TP in the Portfolio and/or ART and Team

    2) The rights associated with your role in these areas

    I think you've nailed it there Jeffrey, the board view (attached) doesn't have the little green plus. 

    I'll mention this to my administrator.
