    Try one of this:
    -reboot server
-right click the lpar name, there should one option to reconnect hmc, just try to reconnect

    2. If machine disappear from HMC console, then try to add manage server(u need to know the servers HMC1 or HMC2 IP,
    ,and add in HMC)
(U can get server HMC ip from ASMI,search for the option )

    3. Also check,the network config,dhcp or static.

OK, this should work, at least for a few hours, days, weeks, depends on when some IBM marketing person decides to change it all again...

    From:
    http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/

Oh no it has changed again...

    Just kidding - this time....

Select, oh no the cookies have got me - restarting the browser...

Is it me or the IBM interpretation of how a web site should work? I'm certain no body else's site is this much trouble to use...

OK, from a clean browser session at http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/
then in Product Group go for System p, you might also chance Power here if you want to go your own way, as I said the IBM interpretation of a web site is a fickle thing, as it seems is their of product branding - rs6000, pSeries, System p, Power, guys leave it alone, how do you expect any product loyalty if nobody knows what the products are called!

What ever happened to brand loyalty, how on earth do you expect to achieve that if you change the name every five seconds!

Sorry, it is late and I digress.
Back to the story of how to find HMC updates - this week!

    So you are at http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/
And you have chosen on either Series p or Power, the next option is the "product" selection, here you need to aim for "Firmware and HMC".

In the next box you may be asked for the processor type or if you went with the Power option you can go straight to the machine type and model. If you went for system p at the top then select power5 and power6 in the processor type box.

Then you select your "managed system" type and model - quite what this has to do with the HMC is beyond me but there is a means to the end and ours is not to ask the reason....

So you pick any of the options for the machine type and model and the get another four questions.

Now don't get too clever and think, oh, I might as well pick up the system firmware here as well as the HMC updates. That don't work and you may get the firmware but you will find no HMC code if you go that way!

Go for the HMC firmware option, recovery images and other fixes.

Now, I thought IBM decided HMC code was an LPP at about V3.2.6 and made us pay for software support as a result. So why do they still call it HMC firmware when for an HMC the firmware is obviously the PC BIOS for this box they are selling for a huge amount of money and the software is the HMC OS!

    Then...getting tired now...

Hit the continue button, if you have not jumped out of a fifth floor window by now...

From here you can select the HMC code version you are after and then struggle through understanding the fixes and other downloads, or if you have met an untimely death by this time may I offer my condolences to whoever is reading what is still displayed on your computer screen.

    HTH
